A New Blog for All Saints on Pilgrimage

I love the way our church's name can be a part of so many wonderful double meanings.

A new blog for the ages..
In years past, we have had separate blog addresses for each pilgrimage. So, we are combining to one blog (from now on, at least) for your daily blog posts from your pilgrims. We can also put posts on here from smaller voyages that our 9th and 10th graders will be taking that will be pilgrimages as well.

Pilgrimage is a way of seeing the world by going somewhere else in a particular way. We really like to use the language and ideas out Phil Cousineau's The Art of Pilgrimage . (More on him later...)
Somewhere in here... 10th Grade Pilgrims from All Saints' are exploring the Otavalo Market in Ecuador

It is a tradition that is about as ancient as it gets-- people have been dropping what they are doing to visit holy places and go on holy treks as long as we have been here on earth. (Moses and the Children of Israel in the Desert, Paul on the Road to Emmaus, Jesus in the Desert.... Aboriginal folks on walkabouts... Vision Quests... The quest for the Holy Grail... you get the idea). We join with all who have gone before us in our journey and want you to go along with us.

Last Year's Pilgrims at the top of an Amphitheater in Ephesus where Paul
(yup... that Paul) did some preaching and got yelled at. We didn't preach or get yelled at.
We did, however, read his sermon and really felt connected to our past... And we enjoyed singing to each other, too.

Each day (sometimes a couple of times each day), your pilgrims will blog from Ireland to let you know what is going on, what they are encountering and (and this is the best part) how God is present to them in their holy journey.

Starting now we will be posting some about our preparations. We will also be linking to old blogs as well so you can read them to get an idea of what we have done and where we have been before.
